Bergman stopped by WBKB’s studios and identified a few issues that are on his radar for the future.“We assume when we turn on our light switches in our house, the lights go on,” said Bergman. “Electricity is consider a utility. I would suggest to you that broadband should be a utility.”It’s no secret that broadband has been an issue Northeast Michigan. Oscoda and Montmorency County have some of the worst issues with broadband. Presque Isle County is not far behind. Bergman plans to tackle this issue by looking at solutions to make sure all areas are covered. Closing the skilled jobs gap is another topic that Bergman touched on during the conversation.“Now that economy is booming to the point where we know we need more qualified people to fill the jobs,” said Bergman. “You look around and see “help wanted” [signs] in many areas all around.”The modernization of the Soo Locks have been one of the biggest issues that Bergman has advocated for, gaining national attention. President Donald Trump referenced the project, wanting to push it up the food chain of struggling infrastructures in the United States. He spoke at a rally back in April in Washington Township, giving a shout out to the project. The congressman noted that each issue begins with the constituents and the conversations at the coffee shop. He asks one question of the folks he represents.“Are you better off than you were two years ago?”Bergman will run for re-election in November. He will most likely face write-in Democrat Matt Morgan, a candidate who has identified the same issues to act on.To learn more about Bergman and his proposed legislation, visit https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/jack_bergman/412709 or visit https://bergmanforcongress.com/To learn more about Matt Morgan, visit https://mattmorganformichigan.com/AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to FacebookFacebookShare to TwitterTwitterShare to MoreAddThis Tags: 1st District, alpena, Election Day, Jack Bergman, Matt Morgan, montmorency, Oscoda, Rural Broadband, Soo Locks, wbkbContinue ReadingPrevious What’s Trending for August 8Next Mother, daughter changes face of beautylast_img read more

Jarrell Miller reportedly failed a second VADA test for another banned substance

first_imgJoin DAZN to watch Anthony Joshua and 100+ fight nights a yearOn Friday, ESPN reported that Miller failed a second VADA test. The second failed test is reportedly for HGH, ESPN reported further. This comes after Miller’s positive test for GW1516 (a banned substance) was found in a urine sample that VADA collected last month.Following the adverse finding from the first drug test, Miller broke his silence Thursday by posting a lengthy message on his Instagram account, denying knowingly taking any banned substances. Eddie Hearn already said that a new opponent will be named for Anthony Joshua next week for his June 1 U.S.-debut fight after Jarrell Miller was refused a boxing license for an “adverse finding” in a drug test.Well, it just got reportedly even worse for “Big Baby.” I want to thank all of my supporters who have stood by me since day one and especially during this extremely difficult time. I have not been tuned in to social media and any other media outlets to focus and channel all of my energies into working hard with no distractions. I am absolutely devastated upon hearing the news my boxing license has been revoked in NY State and I will be vigorously appealing this decision. I have NEVER knowingly taken any banned substance and when I found out the news last night I was totally shocked. My team and I stand for integrity, decency & honesty and together we will stand to fight this with everything we have! This was a voluntarily test that I was very happy to do and these results came just one week after another voluntarily test that I had taken which was completely clean. I refuse to just lie down and let my dream be taken away from me when I know in my heart that I’ve done nothing wrong. 15 years of hard work. I’m WARRIOR .. I don’t need a banned substance. Remember don’t believe everything you hear and see. The facts will prevail and I shall be vindicate. I don’t have anything to hide and the truth will make itself known.A post shared by JARRELL BIGBABY MILLER (@bigbabymiller) on Apr 17, 2019 at 4:45pm PDT Like Joshua, Miller (23-0-1) is an undefeated fighter who had generated plenty of heat around the June 1 fight for pushing the unified world heavyweight champion across the stage during a colorful New York City press conference at Madison Square Garden back in February.center_img View this post on Instagramlast_img read more
