Story Links CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The Drake University women’s golf team is in first place after the first day of play at the UNI Women’s Invitational at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course. “I’m so proud of the team’s effort today,” said Drake head coach Rachael Pruett. “We knew it was going to be a grind with low temperatures and high winds all day. They kept good attitudes and took everything in stride. Haeri continued her steady play with a fantastic round of 75. Aimee, Kristen and Sam also had solid rounds in the 70s. Overall, everyone held it together in very very tough conditions. I look forward to seeing us take on the course tomorrow with less wind.”The tournament closes Sunday with 18 holes at Pheasant Ridge. Print Friendly Versionlast_img
